We were established in January 1991 in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, as a subsidiary of Kogane Wool Textile, which undertakes the entire wool spinning and spinning site. Skilled craftsmen carefully spin yarn with the best techniques, and by conducting the entire process from raw wool to yarn in a single location from start to finish, we constantly listen to the voice of the yarn, understand its properties, and breathe life into it. We will continue to pass on our legacy of technology, which has been shaken by the decline in the number of factories and craftsmen in production, to the next generation without interruption, and we will continue to put our sincere thoughts and feelings toward manufacturing into our products.
Our Services
After Kogane Wool Textile arranges for the raw materials to be imported and dyed as needed, the yarn is spun at Kogane Akita. There are many types of yarns, and among them, we produce yarns called wool yarns, which are mainly made from natural fibers such as wool and cashmere. Woolen spinning is an industrialized version of handspinning, and corresponds to the woolen yarn that most people imagine. The surface of the yarn is soft and fluffy, and it contains a lot of air, making it soft and light. There are several processes involved in making yarn. The raw wool in wadding form is blended, the fibers are prepared, and the yarn is stretched to make a single strand. Twisted yarns are then twisted into yarns of various thicknesses. Akita Kogane is the only company in Japan that integrates the spinning, twisting, and shipping processes, aiming to produce reliable yarns with stable quality and short lead times.
